Lens Mount
I’ve written an OSL shader to produce anisotropic pattern on the metal made of circles with a cos function for the profile. The output is also modified by a noise function to make sure every concentric circle is a bit different in height.
Camera Body
This is a material made of three layers.
Base metal that has fingerprints altering glossiness
Small embedded flakes
Labeling that is made with reflective pain.
Rubber
I’ve broken down this material into three parts.
Base rubber layer that has small stress cracks.
Specular layer for small amounts of oil stuck inside rubber cavities.
Oils that are stuck in larger concave areas.
Lens Glass
This has properties of regular glass with exception to very low reflectivity due to special lens coating. Nano-coating used in lenses tends to block different frequencies based on the viewing angle. This effect is based on the variance of the ray length going through nano-coating. It get’s longer when the angle approaches 90 degrees between camera ray and the surface normal. Here it is simulated with a simple view angle dependent gradient.
